meet Jess.
Meet Jess Denton, the right brain of CreatHer, and the doer-of-all-things otherwise. Jess is wife to Tyler, a high school autism teacher and lover of cookies + jujitsu. She's momma to future boss babe daughters Riot (9), Early (6) and future (and current) ladies man, Navy (4). Jess is full time photographer and owner of MONROE+CO - a photography studio and full service salon. Jess is also the founder of the non-profit lady tribe NEST; a refuge for badass women.
Jess has a passion for art and creating. She paints and writes poetry in any free time she can squeeze into her jelly (see what I did there?) packed schedule. She enjoys the finer things in life, like live shows, bud light, hats, root beer popsicles, decaf coffee, sports bras, messy buns, baby animals, baby humans, her dad's spaghetti and dry shampoo. She does handstands when she's stressed, speaks honestly about her struggles (and successes) with anxiety, loses her keys at least twice a day, is always working to better herself, and has a mean high five (though she prefers hugs). She doesn't appreciate slow drivers, cold pizza, bacon (I know, I know), scary movies, long lines, or when her children put empty boxes back in the pantry.
In the business world, we often discuss hot topics like our WHY. Jess's 'why' has been sprinkled out into all aspects of her life, which is how she found herself co-founding CreatHer.
Her WHY: Loving other's deeply through self expression.
In photographing for CreatHer, Jess is given the opportunity to experience and document women at their most vulnerable. She uses her God-given gifts to make women feel good in their own skin. She thrives on watching women come to life in front of her camera, knowing that they are letting her in to a shielded place that feels a bit uncomfortable. When Jess photographs you, she's not just taking your picture, she's finding you, and showing the world how beautiful, inspiring, STRONG and relatable the authentic you really is. She's loving you deeply through self expression.
